How to Go4it?
Becoming a Go4it school is straightforward and involves a few simple stages.
At registration, the school will receive a handbook detailing the 8 assessment criteria relevant to achieving Go4it status along with some case study examples from Go4it schools. Two essential stages involve the establishment of a Go4it steering group drawn from across the school community and a written submission which will detail the school’s approach to meeting the criteria.
The written submission should form a portfolio of evidence which must contain five examples which meet each of the 8 assessment criteria. Crucially, the five examples must demonstrate the impact, rather than the process, that the Go4it philosophy has on the school, its journey and subsequent achievements.
The next stage involves a Go4it assessor, who will engage in a half-day assessment of the school. This will involve a tour taking in activities and areas which clearly demonstrate the ethos and Go4it approach together with informal interviews and questions with members of the school community.
Finally your written submission and half-day assessment are evaluated and a decision is reached.
